Fast forward 2 weeks when I discover my credit card statement and I was charged for the fare. We tipped him a few extra dollars, feeling bad that he had to wait during this whole ordeal. After a few minutes of trying her card, he said her's was declined as well and told us to go inside to use the ATM. We insisted he take my friend's card instead which he refused but we kept insisting. After a few minutes of him trying my card, he told me it was declined, which was strange being that I had been using it all night.

When we arrived at our resort, I asked the driver if I could pay by credit card and he acted a bit huffy about it but took my card. The bellhop called for a taxi and we got in no problem. Totally ripped off by driver – Enjoyed a night out at Disney's Boardwalk the night before Halloween with a friend and we decided to take a taxi back to our Disney resort rather than take Disney transportation because it was late and we were tired. Orange for Orlando Yellow must mean CAUTION we don't care. To sum it up - Never trust a company who calls themselfs YELLOW and paint the car ORANGE. That driver came to pick us up with in 10 minutes of the bartender calling for us. I send great thanks to the mall security guard who gave us a ride to a near by bar where to my surprise called Big Apple Taxi. Well my guess this unreliable driver must have been sleeping or not worried about making any money. When I asked the dispatcher what was going on a thrid time, I was told cab 373 was not responding to the callout. During our hour wait we saw several Yellow Taxi's passing by on the near highway and roads.

I work in the taxi industry in Chicago and those drivers fight for a fare on a slow night.įor a company who is a large fleet in Orlando, they really do not do a good job. It is 11:30 at night and waiting over an hour for a cab on a Thursday night is ridiculous. I was told by a different operator after sitting on hold for 5-6 minutes that cab 373 would be there in 7 minutes. So another 10 minutes go by and I call again. We waited still, talking to more employees who were stunned we were still there. After another 15 minutes I personally called and was told by someone who said they were in dispatch that cab 373 would be there in 8 minutes. After waiting 30 minutes an employee called back and was told 5 minutes. After having dinner at the Florida Mall the resturant called Yellow Taxi to take us back to our hotel. Some of the supervisors are really nice and can often be funny but overall the management should not be in the position they're in, especially with their attitudes and - more.Bad Experience – I was in Orlando for 1 day 1/26/12. That's less than most companies pay for new hires.ĭon't get me wrong, I quit and was not terminated, so please don't mistake me as a disgruntled former employee I'm merely stating my disdain for the company and how they operate the company. Oh, you're also not allowed to listen to your own music via headset or whatnot because apparently that's considered a distraction.īasically there's no room for improvement unless you've worked there forever and a day and still, the furthest you can go is maybe a supervisor that brings in around $11/hr. You get the point! It becomes VERY annoying! If you ask management to switch the channel, turn the music down or just turn it off, they'll first tell you that it's not going tk happen and even when the music drives you crazy amd makes you want to snap, the management will tell you that if you don't like it, find a new job. They play a Sirius Radio station called The Blend and it basically plays the same 20 songs over and over and over.
Probably the worst part about working there is their choice of "music".

During busy season when it's back to back calls, people seem to get fired right and left and your breaks get shortened by the management that still seem to take their full breaks without question.
The employees are nice for the most part but management has pretty much no respect for you and people get terminated for the dumbest reasons.
